Trump: Thailand and Cambodia are ready for peace
Washington, 12 December (Hibya) – U.S. President Donald Trump said that Thailand and Cambodia are ready for peace and to continue trade with the United States.
President Trump said he held a very productive meeting with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet regarding the extremely unfortunate resurgence of long-running wars.
Trump said, “The parties have agreed, as of this evening, to completely cease fire and return to the foundational peace agreement signed with me, with them, and with the contribution of Malaysia’s great Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.”
Trump noted that it was understood that the roadside bomb that caused the deaths and injuries of many Thai soldiers was an accident, but that Thailand nevertheless responded very strongly, adding:
“Both countries are ready for peace and for continuing trade with the United States of America. It is an honor for me to work with Anutin and Hun to resolve this crisis, which could otherwise have turned into a major war between two friendly and prosperous nations. I would also like to thank Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his contributions to this very important issue.”
