Italian Prime Minister Meloni announced that she received Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at Palazzo Chigi.

Stating that they discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the need to strengthen the ceasefire in Gaza through the full implementation of President Trump’s Peace Plan, Meloni said:

“I once again reaffirmed Italy’s determination to play a leading role in the stabilization and reconstruction of Gaza, and renewed our support for the reform program of the Palestinian Authority. This program is also of fundamental importance for reviving the necessary political process that will lead to a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.”
