Zelensky: An important military-industrial facility in Russia was struck
Kyiv, May 23 (Hibya)- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that security services carried out an attack on a chemical plant in Russia’s Perm Krai region and that production at the facility was halted.
Zelensky announced that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) targeted an important military-industrial facility in Russia.
Zelensky stated that the attack was carried out against the Metafrax Chemicals facility located in Russia’s Perm Krai region, approximately 1,700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
Zelensky noted that the facility is of critical importance to the Russian chemical industry and that the products manufactured there supply many military production facilities, including those producing aircraft, drones, missile engines, and explosives.
Stating that production activities were halted after the attack, Zelensky described the operation as a “long-range sanction” and thanked the Ukrainian security forces.
