Zelensky: 180 sites damaged across the country, attacks continue
Kyiv, May 14 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russia’s overnight attacks caused casualties and injuries in many regions, especially in Kyiv. It was reported that 180 sites across the country were damaged.
Zelensky made statements regarding Russia’s latest overnight attacks. Zelensky said that 5 people were killed in Kyiv, around 40 were injured, while there were 7 injured in the Kyiv region, 28 in Kharkiv, and 2 in Odesa.
Zelensky stated that 180 sites across the country were damaged as a result of the attacks, more than 50 of which were residential buildings. He added that search and rescue operations were continuing in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district and that more than 10 people had been reported missing.
Zelensky said that hundreds of personnel from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and police officers were working on the ground, and that teams were making intensive efforts to reach those trapped under the rubble.
Zelensky also reported that a vehicle belonging to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Kherson region had been targeted by FPV drones, adding that the personnel inside the vehicle were not injured.
Zelensky stated that air defense systems had intercepted a large number of missiles and drones during the attacks, but that defense against ballistic missiles remained the most critical challenge. He also called on the international community to continue sanctions against Russia and increase pressure.
