European Parliament President Roberta Metsola stated that behind each of the 2.7 million cancer cases diagnosed in the EU there is a story of resilience. Metsola said, “Each figure represents a family member, a friend, a colleague.”
Noting that incredible progress has been made in prevention and detection, Metsola added that the journey does not end here.
Metsola also said:
“The European Parliament is determined to ensure that no one walks this path alone, to defend the support people need during treatment, and to protect their right to continue their lives afterward.”
