Iranian President reacts to Pope and issues condolence message
Tehran, April 13 (Hibya) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned allegations of “insult” directed at the Pope, stating that disrespect toward Jesus is unacceptable.
Iranian President Pezeshkian expressed his reaction in a statement regarding remarks directed at the religious leader referred to as Pope Louis XIV.
In his message, Pezeshkian stated on behalf of Iran that “as a great nation, we condemn the disrespect,” emphasizing that Jesus is the “prophet of peace and brotherhood” and that any disrespect toward him is unacceptable.
The statement also stressed that attacks on beliefs and sacred values cannot be accepted by any free individual, adding that Iran will continue its approach based on respect for religious values.
