Hegseth: We remain forever grateful for the freedom they secured
Washington, June 6 (Hibya) - U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth commemorated the Allied soldiers who fought and sacrificed in defense of freedom in a message published on the anniversary of the Normandy Landings (D-Day).
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth highlighted the historic operation that took place eighty-two years ago and the courage shown by the soldiers.
Referring to the battle fought on the shores of Normandy, Hegseth said, “Eighty-two years ago, Allied forces answered the call of duty to defend freedom and stormed the beaches of Normandy into the hell of war.”
Emphasizing the importance of preserving the freedoms that were won, Secretary Hegseth stated, “Today we honor their courage, remember their sacrifice, and remain forever grateful for the freedom they secured for future generations.”
