Hegseth: We honored the courage of the soldiers who stormed the D-Day beaches
Washington, June 6 (Hibya) - U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth met with French Minister of the Armed Forces Catherine Vautrin as part of the commemoration of the anniversary of the Normandy Landings (D-Day).
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, who met with his counterpart as part of the commemorative events, issued a statement regarding the visit and the meeting.
Highlighting the historic role and sacrifices of Allied soldiers, Hegseth said, “Earlier today, I met with French Minister of the Armed Forces Catherine Vautrin in Normandy.”
Hegseth added, “Together, we honored the courage, heroism, and sacrifice of the thousands of Allied soldiers who stormed the D-Day beaches 82 years ago in the cause of freedom.”
