European Council President Antonio Costa said that the European Union continues to stand with Ukraine, stating: “Today, tomorrow, for as long as necessary.”

He noted that history was made with the opening of the first cluster of accession negotiations on fundamental issues, and said that the first payment of a €90 billion support loan will soon be made, with a focus on drones and defense capabilities.

Costa emphasized that the Ukrainian people are showing extraordinary effort both on the battlefield and in the reform process, adding that these efforts are yielding results and that the trajectory for Ukraine is changing.
