Lahbib: solidarity message at the African Union Ebola Summit
Brussels, 16 June (Hibya) - European Union Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib reiterated the EU’s support for countries affected by the outbreak at the African Union Ebola Summit.
Speaking during the joint activities of the summit and highlighting the importance of regional solidarity, EU Commissioner Hadja Lahbib delivered a message of determination in the fight against the outbreak.
She said she met with African leaders and reaffirmed cooperation, stating: “Today at the African Union Ebola Summit, together with African leaders and partners, I reaffirmed our commitment to countries affected by this outbreak.”
Emphasizing the importance of joint action in times of crisis, Lahbib concluded: “Strong regional leadership, solidarity and partnership are essential. Together we save lives, build resilience and make our societies safer.”
