Cooper: Those in need of treatment must be able to access vital care
London, January 22 (Hibya) – UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said reports from the Palestinian Committee and the United States indicating that the Rafah border crossing could open in the coming days are encouraging.
UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper issued a statement on developments regarding the re-establishment of the humanitarian corridor to Gaza.
Welcoming expectations about the opening of the crossing, Cooper said: “We welcome reports from the new Gaza Palestinian Committee and the United States that the Rafah border crossing could open in the coming days.”
Highlighting the urgency of the process, Cooper added: “We want this to happen as soon as possible, so that more aid can reach Gaza and those in urgent need of medical treatment can access life-saving care.”
