Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky published a message on his social media account on the occasion of Military Intelligence Day.

Zelensky thanked all personnel who strengthened Ukraine’s defense during the war, provided the intelligence the country needed and carried out operations aimed at preventing Russia from achieving its objectives.

Stating that personnel of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence took part in important operations alongside other members of the country’s Defense Forces, Zelensky said, “They defended Kyiv, liberated Snake Island and carried out hundreds of other defense operations that Ukraine needed.”

Zelensky said the operations were carried out both on Ukrainian territory and “behind enemy lines”.

Zelensky also said he commemorated intelligence personnel who lost their lives while on duty, adding, “We will remember all our intelligence officers who lost their lives while carrying out combat missions. We honor the memory of every hero who gave their life.”

Zelensky also thanked personnel who continue the work of their fallen comrades and work every day for Ukraine’s security and independence, concluding his message with the words, “Glory to Ukraine’s military intelligence! Glory to Ukraine!”
