Plenkovic: Education is the foundation of society’s progress
Zagreb, September 7 (Hibya) - Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic wished students success in the new school year, saying education and upbringing form the foundation of society’s progress. Plenkovic said a 3.2 billion-euro investment cycle in education aims to provide high-quality and accessible education.
Croatian Prime Minister Plenkovic issued a message to students and education workers on the occasion of the start of the new school year.
Wishing all students success in the new school year, Plenkovic also wished those starting the first grade of primary school “a happy beginning to an important chapter of life in which they will gain new knowledge and friendships”.
Plenkovic drew attention to the importance of education in social development, saying, “Education and upbringing are the foundation of society’s progress.”
Plenkovic thanked teachers, educators, professional staff and school administrators for their dedication, and also thanked parents for the support they provide to their children.
Referring to the Croatian government’s investments in education, Plenkovic said, “Through a major investment cycle worth 3.2 billion euros, we aim to provide high-quality and accessible education for everyone.”
Plenkovic said their goal is for every child in Croatia to have a place in kindergarten, for all schools to operate in a single shift, and for students to have equal opportunities for success regardless of where they live.
The Croatian prime minister concluded his message to students with the words, “Dear students, I wish you success.”
