Von der Leyen: The attacks are unacceptable
Brussels, May 4 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had been targeted by missile and drone attacks allegedly originating from Iran, expressing full solidarity with the UAE people and partners in the region.
Von der Leyen condemned the attacks in a statement addressed to UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Von der Leyen said, “These attacks are unacceptable and constitute a clear violation of sovereignty and international law. Security in the region has direct consequences for Europe.” She added that the European Union will continue working with its partners to reduce tensions and find a diplomatic solution.
