Meloni stated that an approach covering all stages of migration was also adopted at the Copenhagen Summit, saying, "we are acting together in the fight against illegal migration." She noted that combating human smugglers and accelerating return processes are among the priorities.

Drawing attention to population movements in the Horn of Africa, Sudan, and the Middle East, Meloni emphasized the need to “strengthen multilateral coordination” in light of the lessons learned from the 2015 migration crisis. In this context, she said that information sharing, border security, and international cooperation should be enhanced.

Italian Prime Minister Meloni stated, “Italy will play its role with seriousness and responsibility.”
