Test flight conducted for the Artemis 2 mission
Washington, February 3 (Hibya) – The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that a test flight for the Artemis II mission was carried out in the early morning hours.
In a statement, NASA reported that a test flight for the Artemis 2 mission was conducted in the early hours of the morning.
It was noted that in order to allow teams to review the data and conduct a second test flight, NASA is targeting March as the earliest possible launch date for the Artemis 2 mission.
The statement said: “During the test, engineers carried out the first attempt of the terminal countdown procedures, but the countdown was halted with five minutes remaining due to a sudden increase in the liquid hydrogen leak rate. Crew safety remains the highest priority.”
