Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, commenting on the country's foreign trade figures, said that the main purpose of his visits to Argentina and Brazil was to open new markets for Italian businesses.

Drawing attention to the details of the export data, Tajani said, "Italy continues to grow in international markets. Istat data confirms that Italian goods exports increased by 4.5 percent in the first six months of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025. This is an important achievement, also supported by a 4.4 percent increase in manufacturing exports."

Stating that the figures demonstrate the strength of the Italian brand, Tajani said, "These figures reflect the strength and competitiveness of our businesses and the 'Made in Italy' brand."

Tajani concluded his assessment of his visit to South America by saying, "This is also the purpose of my visit to Argentina and Brazil: to create the necessary conditions for Italian companies to invest, innovate and gain access to new markets."
