Tajani: Civilians and UNIFIL forces must be protected
Rome, April 24 (Hibya) - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated that his phone call with the US Secretary of State was “long and friendly”.
Tajani said, “I appreciate the efforts of the United States in the negotiations between Lebanon and Israel,” adding that Italy is ready to support dialogue.
Emphasizing the urgency of extending the ceasefire in Lebanon, Tajani stated, “Civilians and UNIFIL forces must be protected.”
Regarding Iran, Tajani said, “It is important to resume negotiations for a lasting and peaceful solution,” noting that the safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is critical for the global economy.
