Strategic partnership talks held between Qatar and the US
Doha, May 10 (Hibya) - Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with United States (US) Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
In a statement issued by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was noted that Prime Minister Al Thani discussed the “close strategic partnership and cooperation relations” between the two countries during his meeting with US Secretary of State Rubio and US Middle East Special Envoy Witkoff. The statement said that “ways to support and strengthen these relations, especially in the fields of defense and energy, were discussed.”
The statement also noted that the parties evaluated regional developments and emphasized that “all parties should respond to the ongoing mediation efforts.” It was further stressed that “the root causes of the crisis should be addressed through peaceful means and dialogue.”
