Rubio: We launched a new golden age in U.S.-Japan relations
Washington, May 26 (Hibya) - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi to discuss the partnership between the two countries and cooperation in the region.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted the progress made in bilateral relations during the Trump era and its impact on the region.
Referring to joint efforts in the previous period, Rubio said, “During President Trump’s term, we launched a new golden age in U.S.-Japan relations that supports a free and open Indo-Pacific and brings peace and prosperity to the region.”
Providing information about the content of the bilateral meeting, Rubio stated, “We discussed maintaining this momentum both bilaterally and through the Quad alliance.”
