U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made remarks on secure supply chains and economic strategies at a conference attended by like-minded allied countries.

Stating that the initiative launched should take on a global dimension, Rubio said: “This initiative that we launched here today may have started with us, but it is not solely an American initiative.”

Rubio added: “This should be an international, global initiative together with like-minded countries that share common ground.”

Referring to the Trump administration’s national security vision, Rubio said: “From his first day in office, President Trump made it clear that economic security is national security. We believe that you, our friends and partners, will benefit from secure supply chains that we want to be a major part of.”
