German Chancellor Merz: Violence must stop
Berlin, February 4 (Hibya) – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that violence must stop and that they are ready to take part in talks aimed at swiftly ending Iran’s nuclear program and to further increase pressure.
German Chancellor Merz stated that they need new strategic partners for their security and prosperity.
Noting that they are reducing dependencies, mitigating risks and creating new opportunities, Merz said that this is why he traveled to the Gulf, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Merz said they want to work together with Gulf countries to promote peace in the region, adding: “However, developments in Iran stand in the way of this. Violence must stop. We are ready to participate in talks aimed at swiftly ending Iran’s nuclear program and to further increase pressure.”
