Rubio met with Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan
Helsingborg, May 22 (Hibya)- United States (US) Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
United States (US) Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that he held talks with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on alliance obligations, the NATO Summit to be held in Türkiye, and strategic developments in the Middle East.
Stating that defense industry responsibilities and the upcoming leaders’ summit were the main agenda items of the meeting, Rubio said: “We discussed the ongoing strategic necessity for all allies to fulfill their defense obligations and the plans for the NATO Summit to be held in Türkiye.”
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also drew attention to regional security corridors and the continuity of maritime trade, saying: “We also discussed the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and efforts for greater regional stability.”
