Palestinian Foreign Ministry’s Statement Regarding the OIC’s Declaration
Ramallah, February 27 (Hibya) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that it welcomes the statement issued after the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting and called on the international community to protect the Palestinian people.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement regarding the results of the extraordinary OIC Executive Committee meeting held in Jeddah, in line with President Mahmoud Abbas's directives.
The Ministry expressed its appreciation for the common stance of the member states on ending Israel's illegal colonial occupation and their support for the Palestinian cause.
The statement confirmed the commitment of all member states to supporting Palestine’s political, legal, and financial positions on international platforms in the face of Israeli annexation policies. The Ministry emphasized that the decisions made by the occupying colonial government are void, condemning U.S. Ambassador statements regarding providing consular services to settlers in the West Bank, labeling them as a clear violation of international law.
The Ministry’s statement included the following:
“The State of Palestine, with the support of Arab and Islamic countries, reaffirms its commitment to achieving peace on all occupied Palestinian territories in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, and to establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state. It also reaffirms the unity of the Palestinian people and their natural right to self-determination, rejects all policies of displacement, and highlights the Palestinian leadership’s determination to protect the Palestinian people, stop Israel's genocidal war, and hold the perpetrators accountable.”
