Pakistani Foreign Minister Dar evaluated austerity measures
Islamabad, May 18 (Hibya) – Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the government’s austerity measures.
Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting to assess the implementation of the austerity measures announced by the government on March 13, 2026.
During the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary briefed the committee on the latest status of the ongoing fiscal discipline measures.
Implementation processes raised by various ministries and units were also discussed.
Dar emphasized the importance of fiscal discipline under the current economic conditions and called on all ministries and institutions to exercise maximum care and responsibility in public spending and administrative decision-making processes.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of State for Finance, the Prime Minister’s special advisers, the Cabinet and Interior Secretaries, and senior government officials.
