Istanbul, May 20 (Hibya) - A bearish trend was observed in Asian markets during the trading day of the week. Rising US bond yields and ongoing geopolitical tensions related to Iran contributed to the decline in the markets.

In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 index fell 1.13 percent to 8,507.50 points. In India, the NIFTY 50 index lost 0.31 percent, falling to 23,544.95 points.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index traded down 0.55 percent at 25,655.44 points, while in China, the Shanghai Composite index declined 0.45 percent to 4,150.977 points.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index posted a sharp decline of 1.47 percent, dropping to 59,661.98 points.
