EP President Roberta Metsola made a statement regarding the strategic agreement that will strengthen trade ties between the European Union and the United States of America.

Drawing attention to Europe’s stance in alliances, Metsola said, “Europe is a reliable partner. The European Parliament and the Council have reached an agreement on the EU-US trade agreement.”

Referring to the enormous impact of this partnership on employment and the global economy, Metsola stated, “As the world’s largest economic relationship, this partnership, which supports 16 million jobs, is important for people and businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Expressing their desire for the process to be successfully completed, Metsola said, “Now we look forward to finalizing this and making it work for everyone.”

Emphasizing the trust underlying the agreement, the EP President concluded with the following words:

“Built on mutual respect, this agreement makes us all stronger. Because a deal is a deal.”
