French President Emmanuel Macron expressed gratitude to the heroes who sacrificed themselves for the country’s freedom on the anniversary of the end of World War II.

Referring to the significance of the commemoration day, Macron said, “On May 8, we honor the heroes who worked for the Liberation of France. Their courage made victory possible, and their sacrifices paved the way for peace.”

Highlighting the responsibility of future generations, Macron stated, “It is up to us to keep this legacy alive. Alongside our commitment to freedom, let us continue to keep the flame of remembrance burning brightly.”
