Lula da Silva: Federal support and emergency response process launched
Brasilia, May 1 (Hibya) – Brazilian President Lula da Silva announced that a federal support process has been launched following heavy rains in Pernambuco and the Greater Recife region, with many ministries and institutions directed to the disaster area.
In his statement, Lula said: “I have instructed that federal support be provided immediately to local authorities. Minister of Regional Integration Waldez Goes has mobilized the National Civil Defense to provide all necessary support to the affected cities.” It was also noted that the Ministry of Health has joined the support process through the National Health System.
