Lavrov meets UN Secretary-General candidate Otunnu
Moscow, September 14 (Hibya) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Ugandan Olara Otunnu, one of the candidates for United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, and listened to his election platform.
According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met on September 14 with Ugandan Olara Otunnu, a candidate for the post of United Nations Secretary-General.
The statement said Otunnu presented his election platform during the meeting, while Lavrov conveyed Russia's expectations for candidates seeking the top position in the UN Secretariat.
The parties also reaffirmed their commitment to the UN's central coordinating role in world affairs.
