Kos: As instability spreads, the importance of EU-Türkiye relations is growing
Washington, April 16 (Hibya) – European Union (EU) Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos met with Türkiye’s Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek in Washington, DC.
EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said that amid global instability, the importance of EU-Türkiye relations is increasing.
Providing information about the content of the meeting, Kos said: “As instability and unpredictability spread, the importance of EU-Türkiye relations is growing. I am pleased to meet with Türkiye’s Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek in Washington, DC.”
Referring to connectivity networks and infrastructure efforts, Kos stated: “We discussed our ongoing work with Türkiye to diversify connectivity links between Europe and Asia.”
Highlighting the agreement on trade-related arrangements, Kos added: “We also agreed to accelerate our efforts to strengthen reciprocity between the EU and Türkiye in public procurement.”
