Israel: Lebanese government failed to fulfill its obligation to disarm Hezbollah
Jerusalem, April 4 (Hibya) - Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Hezbollah has turned villages in southern Lebanon into military strongholds and used them to target Israeli civilians.
Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding military activity in southern Lebanon and the security situation along the border.
The ministry said that Hezbollah uses civilian areas for military purposes: “Hezbollah has turned all villages in southern Lebanon into military strongholds and used them to fire directly at Israeli civilians and their homes across the border.”
The statement emphasized that Lebanese authorities and the army have failed to meet their international obligations: “Since the Lebanese government and army have failed to disarm Hezbollah, Israel must act to neutralize these strongholds and protect its people.”
