IDF strikes petrochemical complex in Iran
Tel Aviv, April 4 (Hibya) - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it carried out an airstrike on a petrochemical complex in Mahshahr, in southwestern Iran, responsible for manufacturing chemical substances important for the production of ballistic missiles.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) shared details of the operation carried out under the directive of the Intelligence Directorate and in coordination with the Military Intelligence Directorate.
In the statement regarding the target and scope of the attack, it was said: "Earlier today, the Air Force struck infrastructure at the petrochemical complex in Mahshahr, in southwestern Iran, which is responsible for the production and export of chemical substances for the regime-affiliated armed forces."
Referring to the strategic purpose of the operation, the IDF said in its statement: "This facility is one of the main sites where material required for ballistic missiles is produced. Damage to this infrastructure will disrupt the regime's ability to produce various types of weapons using materials manufactured at the plant, with the aim of harming the State of Israel and other countries in the Middle East."
The statement also emphasized: "The completed strikes are part of the phase of deepening the damage inflicted on the fundamental structures and pillars of the Iranian terrorist regime."
