Fuel costs rising in Europe’s aviation sector
US military operations against Iran and developments in the Strait of Hormuz have negatively affected fuel supply in Europe’s aviation sector.
According to CCTV, kerosene prices are rising rapidly, while the International Energy Agency (IEA) has warned of possible shortages in the coming weeks.
Due to rising costs and uncertainty, airlines have begun taking measures. Lufthansa announced it would suspend around 20,000 short-haul flights, while Ryanair management stated that high fuel prices could drive some companies into bankruptcy.
Experts note that despite ongoing demand, travel habits may change. The European Commission continues to seek solutions, and prices are not expected to fall in the short term.
