CENTCOM: Nine commercial vessels redirected under maritime blockade against Iran
Washington, July 22 (Hibya) - The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that nine commercial vessels had been redirected and one vessel had been neutralized as part of maritime blockade operations targeting Iran.
CENTCOM issued a statement regarding maritime blockade operations targeting Iran.
According to a post on CENTCOM's official social media account, U.S. sailors aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112), operating in the Gulf of Oman, monitored the operations from the ship's Combat Information Center.
The statement said that U.S. forces are enforcing the maritime blockade against Iran, adding: "As of July 22, CENTCOM has redirected nine commercial vessels and neutralized one vessel to ensure full compliance."
