Canada aims to strengthen trade and investment cooperation with ASEAN
Ottawa, July 23 (Hibya) – Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand announced that she met with ASEAN foreign ministers in Manila to discuss enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, and supply chains.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand met with the foreign ministers of ASEAN member states in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
In a statement shared on social media, Anand said that the Canada-ASEAN Strategic Partnership offers new opportunities to strengthen trade, investment, and supply chains across the Indo-Pacific region.
Anand stated that the discussions focused on areas where closer cooperation between the two sides' economies could be developed. Ahead of the 50th anniversary of Canada-ASEAN relations, which will be celebrated next year, she noted that they aim to create new opportunities for Canadian companies, enhance regional resilience, and strengthen shared security.
