Budrys: Every Ukrainian child must return home
Vilnius, September 25 (Hibya) – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said at an accountability event on Ukraine held in New York that Ukrainian children should return to their country.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said he condemned Russia’s systematic practices of deportation, indoctrination and militarization targeting Ukrainian children.
Budrys said these practices could constitute crimes against humanity and that those responsible should be held accountable. Lithuania was reported to have pledged at least €10 million under the “Children First” initiative to support the return, rehabilitation and reintegration of Ukrainian children.
Budrys also said that the establishment of the Special Tribunal should be accelerated, international accountability mechanisms strengthened and the damage caused by Russia compensated.
