Berendsen: The ceasefire between the US and Iran is welcomed
Amsterdam, April 8 (Hibya) – Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen said they welcome the two-week ceasefire decision reached between the United States and Iran, emphasizing that reopening the Strait of Hormuz to transit is of critical importance.
Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen made a statement on the agreement reached to reduce tensions in the region and the security of international trade routes.
Evaluating the ceasefire decision as a positive development, Berendsen said: “The Netherlands welcomes the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran.”
Stressing that the process must be turned into a lasting solution, Berendsen stated: “It is vital that all parties maintain the ceasefire and use this period to find a sustainable solution to the conflict.”
Berendsen concluded his statement by saying: “It is clear that reopening the Strait of Hormuz to all transit is critical.”
