Sharif: Pakistan remains committed to working closely with its partners
Islamabad, April 8 (Hibya) – Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s determination to ensure stability in the region during his meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Following his phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif made a statement regarding the ceasefire process in the region and the upcoming "Islamabad Talks".
Providing details on the conversation and Iran’s stance, Sharif said: "I conveyed my deep appreciation to the Iranian leadership for their wisdom and prudence in accepting Pakistan’s offer to host peace talks in Islamabad this weekend, in order to work together to restore peace in the region."
Confirming Iran’s commitment to negotiations, Sharif stated: "President Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s participation in the upcoming negotiations and, while expressing appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts, conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan."
Emphasizing Pakistan’s diplomatic mission, Sharif concluded: "Pakistan remains committed to working closely with all its friends and partners to advance peace and stability in the region and beyond."
