Berendsen: Dutch troops’ mission in Iraq has ended
New York, September 30 (Hibya) - Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen thanked Dutch troops who served in Iraq as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, which had been ongoing since 2014.
European Parliament member Tom Berendsen announced that Operation Inherent Resolve, conducted in Iraq to combat ISIS and contribute to the country’s stability, had ended.
Berendsen said that since 2014 Dutch troops had contributed, often under difficult conditions, to the fight against ISIS and to Iraq’s stability. He said the efforts of Dutch troops had made a difference and thanked the service members who took part in the mission.
