Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Madagascar was struck by Cyclone Fytia on January 30 and then by a second destructive cyclone named Gezani on February 10. It was reported that severe flooding has so far affected more than 257,200 people, with tens of thousands of homes and dozens of classrooms completely destroyed.

Local and national emergency services in Madagascar have been mobilized at full capacity. However, it was noted that serious resource shortages are being experienced due to the damage caused by the previous cyclone, the high number of people in need of assistance, and the wide geographical spread of the disaster.

While the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Malagasy authorities had requested assistance from the international community, it added that Belgium’s rapid response team B-FAST was quickly mobilized through the European Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM).

It was announced that approximately 10 tons (82 cubic meters) of humanitarian aid supplies, consisting of mattresses, blankets, and camp beds, will be sent to Madagascar.
