Zelensky: The sole source of this war is Russia
Kyiv, January 10 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia alone is responsible for the prolongation of the war, stressing that retaliation and pressure against Moscow are legitimate and that Russia’s actions in Ukraine and Europe are being closely monitored.
President Zelensky stated that Russia is the only source of the war and that the drawn-out nature of the fighting stems directly from Moscow’s stance.
“The sole source of this war is Russia. It is also the reason the war is being dragged out. It deserves all retaliation and pressure for everything it has done against life, people, diplomacy, and our partners,” he said.
He noted that Russia’s attempts to weaken international relations are being carefully monitored and documented.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine’s response will come through its intelligence services, special units, political cooperation with partners, and especially through sanctions.
Welcoming renewed moves in the U.S. Congress toward tougher sanctions on Russia—particularly those targeting Russian oil—Zelensky said, “This can really work. I thank everyone who is providing support.”
