Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the congratulatory message he sent on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day.

Zelensky said in his statement, "Türkiye's steadfast commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity lies at the heart of our unprecedentedly strong relationship."

Zelensky also referred to Türkiye's mediation efforts to bring Ukrainians held in Russian captivity back home, saying, "We appreciate Türkiye's mediation and your personal involvement in efforts to bring Ukrainians home from Russian captivity and bring peace closer."
