Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that approximately 120 members of the clergy had lost their lives as a result of Russian attacks targeting religious figures, churches and other religious institutions.

Zelensky said that approximately 800 religious buildings had been destroyed or damaged, including structures with a history spanning a thousand years. He noted that these buildings had been damaged in attacks carried out using drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles, emphasizing that the losses were significant not only in material terms but also for cultural heritage, history, art and architecture.
