Zelensky: Europe must take a strong role in negotiations
Kyiv, May 17 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed possible peace negotiations and Europe’s role in the process during his meeting with European Council President Antonio Costa.
In a statement regarding his meeting with European Council President Antonio Costa, Zelensky stressed that Europe must definitely be involved in the negotiation process, saying, “Europe needs to be included in the negotiations and represented with a strong voice.” The parties also discussed who would represent Europe in this process.
Zelensky also stated that Ukraine’s European Union membership process was discussed during the meeting and that preparations for opening negotiation chapters are continuing. Zelensky thanked European countries for their support.
