Zelensky: Civilian targets were hit in the attacks on Kyiv
Kyiv, May 14 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that civilian infrastructure was targeted in Kyiv and several other regions during Russia’s large-scale overnight drone and missile attacks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that rescue operations are continuing in a nine-story residential building in Kyiv that was struck by a Russian drone attack.
President Zelensky said that part of the building was completely destroyed and dozens of people were pulled from the rubble, but one person lost their life. “My condolences to their families and loved ones. People may still be trapped under the debris,” he said.
Zelensky announced that Russia launched more than 670 attack drones and 56 missiles against Ukraine overnight, including ballistic and cruise missiles.
Stating that Kyiv was the main target of the attacks, Zelensky said that damage occurred at at least 20 different locations across the city.
Zelensky noted that more than 1,560 drones were used in total, saying, “This attack is not the action of those who believe the war is over.” Calling on the international community, Zelensky stressed that pressure on Russia must continue and said, “It is important to continue supporting the protection of our skies.”
