WSJ: US Army used Anthropic’s AI model Claude in Venezuela raid
Stockholm, February 15 (Hibya) - According to the Wall Street Journal, Anthropic’s AI model Claude was used by the US military in an operation targeting Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela.
Venezuela’s defense ministry said the raid involved bombing in Caracas and 83 deaths. Anthropic’s terms prohibit violent or weapons-related uses.
Anthropic is the first known AI developer reportedly used in a secret Pentagon operation.
The company declined to comment, and the US Defense Department did not respond.
WSJ cited sources saying the model was used via a partnership with Palantir Technologies.
The growing military use of AI has raised concerns about autonomous weapons and targeting risks.
