Dutch Foreign Minister Weel stated that ties with Albania are strengthening every year and expressed his pleasure in welcoming Albanian Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali to The Hague.

Van Weel said that a joint declaration was signed to further enhance cooperation in areas such as migration, rule of law, trade, and security. He emphasized that Albania is a key partner and NATO ally in terms of security and stability in the Western Balkans.

Van Weel also noted that discussions covered cross-border organized crime and recent elections in Albania, reiterating the Netherlands’ support for Albania’s EU perspective and encouraging continued progress on reforms.
