Wadephul: The ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia could be the first step toward lasting peace
Berlin, December 27 (Hibya) – German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said that the ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia could represent the first step toward lasting peace.
German Foreign Minister Wadephul stated that the ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia is encouraging.
Noting that after weeks of violence the ceasefire marks an important step toward security and stability, especially for internally displaced persons, Wadephul said, “It is now very important that both sides adhere to the agreement consistently.”
Thanking the ASEAN Chairmanship and the Monitoring Team, Wadephul said, “Their role is vital in preventing a resurgence of violence. The ceasefire agreement could be the first step toward lasting peace; for this, dialogue must continue.”
