Sybiha: Russia’s response to peace was attacks on civilians
Kyiv, December 27 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a large-scale attack on Kyiv at a time when Ukrainian and U.S. leaders were preparing for peace talks.
Sybiha stated that hundreds of drones and missiles were used against Kyiv and other cities and regions, resulting in the deaths of many civilians, power outages in the capital, and one-third of Kyiv being left without heating during winter conditions.
Emphasizing that Russia responds to peace initiatives only with “brutal attacks,” Sybiha said that Putin’s rejection of peace must have very severe consequences for him and his regime.
Sybiha noted that the United States, Europe, and other partners have the necessary tools to increase pressure on Russia both economically and through military losses on the battlefield, adding that this cost must be sharply raised.
